welp, that as they say, is that.
well, not much to say here, except that it's taken me almost 1 hour 1 WEEK figuring out how to deploy this unholy page and write this. therefore i conclude i have huge prospects in this world :D
as much of a greenie as i am in this domain, this was github's fault. i've been stuck for days trying to deploy a webpage using their pages feature. following instructions by the letter, going to different forums and tutorials, banging my head on my kitchen table - yes that's where i do business - only to understand that github had suspended my account... i was shadow banned... in this economy... why would they do such a thing you might ask? well i have NO #$@#! IDEA! they didn't notify me on the app nor by email. what the #### gitman?! had to figure it out ALL BY MYSELF. after pure desperation i'd decided to delete all repos, change my username, and start all over... aaand bingo
as i head to my account to change my username, i find the option grayed out, with a subtext that says contact support if you wanna do that. hmmm... fine. i contact support and after some back and forth of describing the issue they tell me it was because of my email address. it must not be an alias. ehhh fiine. after i changed it, they reinstated my account and... lo & behold
the very first attempt, the page was working :springles: it took me a week to do what should've been a few hours work. am i disappointed? sure. am i fuming i feel like i'm about to ##### implode? you betcha. do i wish it was any different? absolutely not. things are going to happen no matter what you do. life asserts and imposes itself, it's practically impossible to stop it. what you can do is control what you can.
Some things are within your control, and some things are not.-
for now, just tinkering with html. i have so far learnt basic structure, some elements (head, body, headers, paragraphs, basic text formatting, break and horizontal line, images). html is actually neat.
